Gladys Mae Lloyd, 87, of Welcome, MD passed away on May 29, 2011.

Born on December 19, 1923, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Phillip Spence Cusic, and the late Ola Bane Cusic.

Mrs. Lloyd was a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader, and President of the Nanjemoy Homemaker's Club. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, her husband, George E. Lloyd, sister, Pauline A. Chaney, and son-in-law, William Oliver predeceased her.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by her children, Harold G. Lloyd and wife, Elaine of Welcome, MD. Patrice L. Oliver of Walkersville, MD. and Gail M. Slaughter and her husband Ronnie of Nanjemoy, MD.; grandchildren, Bryan E. Oliver, and wife Heidi, of Libertytown, MD., Todd P. Oliver, of Martinsburg WVA., Penny M. Slaughter, of Indian Head, MD., and Derrick E. Slaughter of Ripley, MD.; Great Grandchildren, Kayla N. Slaughter, Anthony J. Longshore, Lucas E. Oliver, and Blake J. Oliver; Brother-in-law, Harold E. Lloyd, and wife, Joan; and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10 am at St. Ignatius, Hill Top. The Rev. Bob Kosty will officiate. Burial will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
