Madeline Coby of Marbury, Maryland, daughter of the late Gilbert Sr. and Daisy Hart, was born on December 17, 1926 in Chicamuxen, Maryland. She departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Fort Washington Hospital in Fort Washington, Maryland and entered into eternal rest.

Madeline was educated in the public schools of Charles County, Maryland. She joined Alexandria United Methodist Church at an early age and supported and attended special services where her roots were established. Madeline chose homemaking as her career. She especially loved working in her flower and vegetable garden. She enjoyed the love of the telephone in which she communicated with family, friends and loved ones. She even tried her luck at the lotteries. Although Madeline was mother to eight children, she was a Mom to many.

In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Braxton, granddaughter, Tammy Coby Johnson, sisters, Gertrude Hart, Edna Holmes and Ella Louise Hart and brother, Lloyd Hart.
