Adolph Francis Welch, 82, of Benedict, MD died March 23, 2011 at his residence. Born May 17, 1928 in Benedict, he was the son of Louis Sylvester Welch and Mary Ella Goldsmith Welch.

Raised in Benedict, Mr. Welch was a waterman his entire life and loved hunting and fishing. He attended Hughesville School. On November 25, 1949, he married his beloved wife, Doris Richards Welch. Adolph was a charter member of the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and former president.

Besides his parents, Mr. Welch was predeceased by his son, Donald Welch and siblings, Kenneth Welch, Sam Welch, Roger Welch, Camillus Welch, Stella Violet, Angie Ager and Lucille Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Welch; son, Robert Welch and wife, Teresa, of Golden Beach, MD; brothers, Leroy Welch of Benedict, MD and Philip Welch of Charlotte Hall, MD and sister, Margaret Ann Brock of Golden Beach, MD; grandchildren, Jason (Lindsey) Welch, Amy Welch and Brian Welch and great grandchildren, Lacey Welch, Addison Welch and Tyler Sandy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Prayers will be held at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, Benedict, MD. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
