Darlene Lynn Gardiner, 42, of La Plata, MD passed away on March 7, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was born March 8, 1968 at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, MD to Earl Floyd and Connie Rivenbark.

She graduated from Surrattsville High School. She then attended the College of Southern Maryland and became a Registered Nurse, employed with Georgetown University Hospital in the PACU Department. Darlene was also a faithful attendee at Calvary Gospel Church in Waldorf, MD.

Darlene loved her family and they always came first in her life. She enjoyed movies, reading, and talking on the phone to her mother and sister. Family was everything to her. During Darlene's illness, she was always surrounded by her loved ones, co-workers from Georgetown, family and friends. She was never alone, not even for a minute.

Daughter of Connie (Jim) Rivenbark and the late Earl Floyd.

Predeceased by her father.

Survived by her husband, Robert Gardiner, Jr.; one son, Justin Gardiner of La Plata, MD; three daughters, Christina Gardiner of Waldorf, MD, Lauren (Glenn) Posey of La Plata, MD, and Shannon Gardiner of La Plata, MD; two grandchildren, Sadie Lynn and the soon-to-arrive Matthew; parents, Connie (Jim) Rivenbark of Clinton, MD; one brother, Michael Floyd of Leonardtown, MD; and one sister, Patsy Collins of Charlotte Hall, MD.

Visitation: Friday, March 11, 2011 from 10AM until service time at 12 Noon at Calvary Gospel Church, 11150 Berry Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.

Interment: Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.

Clergy: Rev. Tim Woods.

Pallbearers: Kevin, Glenn, and Brooks Posey, Michael and Albert Collins, and Caleb Bailey.
