Lillie May Mason, 99, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on March 8, 2011 at Calvert County Nursing Center. Formerly of Arlington, Virginia and Greenbelt, Maryland. Wife of the late Glendie C. Goode and the late Charles K. Mason.

Lillie is survived by her children, Glendie C. Goode and Shirley A. (Robert) Maxwell; three grandchildren Karen (Dale) Jernberg, Mike (Lynn) Maxwell and Diane (Jimmy) Robison; seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lillie loved to knit and crochet and made beautiful afghans, baby clothes, etc. She was also a talented seamstress, making a wedding gown for one of her granddaughters. Lillie was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. One of her biggest thrills was attending the "seat cushion" game at RFK where she was able to meet Joe Gibbs and several of the players. Earnest Byner gave her a big hug. Well into her eighties, Lillie worked in her flower gardens almost every day and tended to her yard. She enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife. She worked crossword and word find puzzles every day and she continued to have a very sharp mind until her death. The boardwalk at North Beach and shopping in WalMart were two of her favorite places to visit.

A memorial service will be held on Monday March 14, 2011, 3 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD.

Lillie loved all animals and the family requests that expressions of sympathy be sent to Patuxent Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Patuxent Animal Welfare Society, Inc. (PAWS), 937 Tidewater Grove Court, Annapolis, MD,21401.
