Grover H. Hawkins, 72 of Hughesville, MD, formerly of Waldorf, MD died February 22, 2011 at Georgetown University Hospital. Born May 13, 1938 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Eugene Franklin Hawkins and Mary Elizabeth Barons Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a retired truck driver for Teamsters Local 639.

Mr. Hawkins led a full life. He enjoyed sports, especially football, baseball and golf and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He also liked to drive his tractor and work outside in his yard. He was never seen without his TV remote control. Listening to country music and "oldies" was always special. Mr. Hawkins enjoyed taking cruises, his last to New England and Canada. His special love was being with his children, grandchildren and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawkins was predeceased by brother, Eugene Hawkins and sister, Shirley Cramer. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hawkins; son, William "Bill" Hawkins and wife, Beth; daughters, Tina Hawkins, Stephanie Gorman and husband, Robert and Wendy Parker and husband, Kirt, Sr.; brother, Thomas Hawkins and wife, Jan; brother-in-law, Ed Cramer and his 7 grandchildren, Kolby Robinson, Erika Bryant and Antonio Gorman, Kirt, Jr. and Kayla Parker, Tyler and Dylan Hawkins.

The family will receive friends for Grover's Life Celebration on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 2 - 4p.m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00p.m. conducted by Chaplain Kimberly McKnight. Interment will be private.
