George Amory Burroughs, 82, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away at the Charles County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in La Plata on February 19, 2011.

George is preceded in death by his parents; Clarence R. Burroughs and Mary M. Ryce. His wife; Bernadette Burroughs. Brothers; Wilson M. Burroughs, and Daniel R. Burroughs. Sister; Mary V. Burroughs, and Brother-in-law; Gary Pyles. Nephew; Robert L. Burroughs.

George is survived by his brother; Garner H. Burroughs, Sr. (Alice). Sister; Shirley A. Pyles. Nephews; Garner H. Burroughs, Jr., Gordon "Ray" Burroughs (Kitty), and Tommy Pyles (Marla). Nieces; Ann Pyles, Donna Daughtery (Craig), and Velma J. Burroughs, and many other relatives and friends.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 11 am at the Christ Church-Wayside Parish. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Garner H. Burroughs, Jr., Gordon R. Burroughs, Craig Daughtery, Jeff McGee, Thomas Pyles, and Doug Pyles.
