Mrs. Petrella was a Sales Representative for 30 years with Avon Cosmetics, where she received many Top Seller awards, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newport, MD. She was an outstanding mother and cook; always creating new recipes. She was a very outgoing individual and loved her dogs, especially "Nicky." In her early years, she was a Telephone Operator who was later selected to be the Operator at the Submarine Base in New London, CT.

She was daughter of the late Daniel Spellman and the late Madeline Carkin

She was predeceased by her parents; one son, Michael E. Petrella; one brother, Daniel Spellman; and two sisters, Lorraine Uskovich and Barbara Cavanaugh.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Emanuel Petrella; one son, John D. (Cynthia) Petrella of Boydes, MD; and three daughters, Constance M. (Frank) Norton of Upper Marlboro, MD, Patricia A. (Ray) Reinhart of Bowie, MD, and Mary Ellen (Scott) Lenhart of Stafford, VA. Also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Ali, Calvin, and Sam, and one great-grandchild, Kimberly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Newport, 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

Clergy will be Father Mark Ervin.

Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Calvin, Sam, and John Patrella, Scott Lenhart, and Ray Reinhart.
