Mr. Hardesty was a Crane Operator for 33 years with the District of Columbia Government and a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Camp Springs, MD. He loved fishing, his red truck and his boat. He was an avid Redskins fan and most enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was son of the late Charles B. Hardesty and the late Bertha L. Mathieson Hardesty.

He was predeceased by his parents; one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Juanita Lanham Hardesty; three sons, Frank E. (Marsha) Hardesty, Jr. of Amelia, VA; Charles T. (Shaina) Hardesty of Hughesville, MD; James D. Hardesty of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010, from 10:30am until service time at 12:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD 20646.

Clergy will be the Rev. Mark Roberson.

Interment will follow at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard.
