Boyd Y. Brown was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2010. He was born the 14th day of February, 1947 to the late Mrs. Gladys Maeonie Johnson Brown in Jackson, Mississippi.

Boyd was educated in Jackson, Mississippi, played sports in school and graduated from Brinkley High School.

On January 11, 1968 he joined the U S Air Force and served his country for 23 and a half year and retired in 1991 as a Master Sargent E7.

When he retired from the Air Force, he moved to Maryland. Boyd was employed as a supervisor with Public Works Department under the Charles County Government and worked at Wal-Mart as a part-time associate.

Body loved watching sports especially football and old western. He also loved listening to oldies but goodies and gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gladys Brown; four brothers Joe, Leroy, John Henry and Curtis; four sisters Earnestine, Alma, Annie Lee and Sarah.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 25 years, Dianna; five children, Donald R. Wesley, Darrell T., Turkessa L., Joseph M. and Shyla Brown and one step son, William Brown; one daughter-in-law Toni; five grandchildren Darrell, Bianca, Martinez, Mariah and Leah; six sister-in-laws Margaret Bivens, Betty Moreaux, Ethel Holton, Mary Olivia Scott, Theresa Brown and Violet Brown; three brother-in-laws Clayton Scott, Daniel Holton and Roy Brown. A very special niece JoAnn Rogers, a close friend Moses and a host nieces, nephews and friends.

Viewing, 10am until time of Service, 12 noon on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment, Thursday, September 9th, 10 a.m., Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
