Helen Louise Westfall, 88, of La Plata, MD passed away on August 19, 2010 at the Charles County Nursing & Rehab Center in La Plata, MD.

Mrs. Westfall was born on July 24, 1922 in Frankfort, IN. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Margaret Boots. Sister of Charlotte Goodnight, and the wife of Arthur Westfall.

She is survived by her daughter Trudy Bramell and son-in-law Douglas Bramell, grandsons; Douglas A. Bramell, his wife Pam. Brian Bramell and his wife, Kristy. Great-grandmother to Grayson, Josie, and Kaelyn Bramell, and many nieces and nephews. As well as, two very dear friends, Jean McCracken and Rita Murphy.

She grew up in Frankfort, IN where she graduated from Franfort High School. After graduation, she moved to Indianapolis, IN where she began working. In 1960 she married Arthur Westfall and together they moved to Indian Head, MD to began their new life together and work at the Naval Propellant Plant. She retired in 1972 as a clerk typist. She was active in the Eastern Star for many years while in Indian Head. In 1987 she was the secretary of the NARFE Chapter 553. After retiring she and her husband moved to Haines City, FL where they lived for 25 years. She enjyoed golfing, fishing, and summer visits with her two grandsons. She dearly loved Florida. In 1996 she returned to MD to be closer to her family because of her ailing husband. She loved life, family, and her cat "Herbie".

Viewing will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm with a service at 7 pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will be private at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
