Mary Frances "Francie" Shlagel Phelps, 57, of Issue, MD, died April 21, 2010, at her residence with Hospice.

On April 21, 2010, Mary Frances "Francie" Shlagel Phelps, succumbed at home with loved ones at her side after a long and courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Francie worked for the Federal Trade Commission and many years for Unocal Corp. retiring in 2003.

Born June 23, 1952, in La Plata, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and the late Eloise Gardiner Shlagel.

Predeceased her parents.

Survived by her husband Dennis, step-daughters, Erin Graham and her husband Eric and Katie Comella and her husband Jason; grandchildren, Sean, Colleen, Larah, and Michael Graham and Madelyn Comella; twin sister, Julia Langley and her husband Don; sisters, Marie Cournoyer and her husband John, Beverly Hill and her husband Mike, Carolyn Roman and her husband Chris and brother, Charles Shlagel Jr. and his wife Wanda, special friends, June Surdam, Pat Heflin, special nieces, Laura, Erin, Anna and many other loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 2-5PM with prayers at 4PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 26, 2010, at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

Msgr. Oliver McGready will officiate.

Interment will be private.
