Mrs. Posey was a homemaker and a Missionary at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Nanjemoy, MD. She loved raising her grandchildren - she was "known as mother to whole community." She enjoyed fishing and was an avid Redskin fan. She was the family historian, a matriarch of the family, and loved her bible studies.

Daughter of the late Elmer Carroll and the late Julia Carroll.

Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Raymond D. Posey, Sr.; sons, Roger Carroll, Robert Carroll, and William Wilson; and daughter, Verstella Carroll.

Survived by one son, Raymond D. (Yvonne) Posey, Jr., of Nanjemoy, MD; 5 daughters, Florence (Daryl) Hawkins of Brandywine, MD, Sharon (Calvin) Johnson of Nanjemoy, MD, Janet (Jerome) Gaines of Indian Head, MD, Penny (Lloyd) Jackson of Indian Head, MD, and Robin (Charles) Woodland, Jr., of Waldorf, MD; and 2 sisters, Lillian Bratcher of New Jersey and Ada Jackson of Nanjemoy, MD. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
