Lennis Bridgett, age 96 of La Plata, Maryland died on September 17, 2020 at Charles Regional Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late David Ray Huddle and the late Louella F. Huddle Garrison. She is preceded in death by her husband Francis "Gene" Bridgett; two brothers, David S. Huddle and Orville C. (Helen) Huddle; and her daughter, Beverly Ann Bridgett Williams. She is survived by her son, Dennis L. Bridgett and daughter-in-law, Rebecca B. Bridgett; sister-in-law Geraldine Huddle; son-in-law David L. Williams; grandchildren Jennifer Bridgett (Gavin) Webster; Jessica Bridgett, Jacqueline (James) Bowers, Lee Bridgett, Megan Williams; step granddaughters, Jaime (Tommy) Abell and Jennafer (John) Wall; and great-granddaughter Louella James Bridgett Bowers.

She was born October 31, 1923 in Harrisonburg, Virginia and the family moved to Washington, D.C. in 1930 where she grew up and graduated from Eastern High School in 1942. She worked in the mortgage banking industry for over 30 years and retired from Norwest Mortgage as District Operations Manager in 1988. She held a Maryland Real Estate Broker's License for over 20 years. She was always generous in sharing her knowledge with friends.

She married her husband of 54 years in 1947 and after raising their two children they built a home in Dentsville on a family farm. After retirement they enjoyed traveling until Gene became ill with Parkinson's disease. Lennis co-founded and led the Parkinson's Disease Support Group in Charles County at the Clark Senior Center as well as traveled with the senior group.

Visitation and funeral will be held at La Plata Methodist Church on Monday September 21, 2020 from 9:30am until service time at 11am. Interment to follow at Trinity Episcopal Church, Newport, Maryland. Reception to follow.
