Michael Thomas "Blaze" Blaser, 51, of Hollywood, MD passed away on October 13, 2019 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C., with his loving family at his side. He was born in Cheverly, MD on July 29, 1968 to the late Margaret Cardwell Regester and Thomas Michael Blaser of Hollywood, MD. He was raised by his father and his late step-mother, Pauline Grace Blaser.

Blaze spent his career in the automotive industry with his last employment being at Tom Hodges Automotive as a Parts Manager. His love of cars and how they worked began at a young age and evolved with experience and age as he became an expert mechanic. He embraced computers and technology and was proactive in learning new things. He especially enjoyed teaching his daughter how to work on cars.

On November 10, 2012, he married his beloved wife, Tricia Lea Callis-Blaser at Hollywood United Methodist church in Hollywood, MD. Together they celebrated over 6 wonderful years of marriage. His hobbies included travelling to the Mountains of Maine and Virginia and taking trips to historic sites, particularly Williamsburg, Gettysburg and Jamestown. He loved animals, with a horse named Hope and two Border Collie mixes named Cheyenne and Takoda. His greatest love was for his family, including his grandchildren with whom he enjoyed building Legos and playing video games.

In addition to his beloved wife, Blaze is also survived by his daughter, Brandi Shadle (Justin) of Indian Head, MD; his grandchildren, Tristan Newsome and Ryleigh Shadle of Indian Head, MD; his siblings: Thomas M. Blaser and Dawn Betran, both of Coos Bay, OR, Thomas A. Blaser (Kate) of Gaithersburg, MD, and Guy T. Blaser (Erinn) of Springfield, TN; his niece, Emilia Blaser of Springfield, TN; and his extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-mother.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 p.m. at Hollywood United Methodist Church, 24422 Mervell Dean Road Hollywood, MD 20636. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentle Giants Horse Rescue, 17250 Old Frederick Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771 and Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 79, Hollywood, MD 20636.
