Joseph Sterling Proctor of Indian Head was called home on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He was born in Bel Alton, Maryland to the late Clements Proctor and Mary Alberta (Harley) Proctor. He grew up on the family farm and was educated in the Charles County Public School System. He moved with his parents and siblings to their home in Mason Springs. After moving to their new home, he worked as a Maintenance Engineer for various companies until he retired. Joe loved spending time with his family. He would often be seen riding around with his brothers just enjoying the scenery and talking with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Gertrude, Elaine Lydia and Mary Bernell and five brothers, John Maxwell, Thomas Vincent, Paul Otis, Thomas Lindbergh and Thomas Dona Proctor. He leaves to mourn his death three brothers, John Melvin, John Clements and James Hilton; two sisters, Virgie Regina and Elizabeth Hazel (Mervyn); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 10AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Ignatius Chapel Point Catholic Church, 8855 Chapel Point Road, Port Tobacco, Maryland 20677. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
