Laura Marie (Johnson) Jones (Age 92) of Indian Head, Maryland. Laura Marie Jones transitioned to eternal rest on August 4, 2018 at 2:45 pm. Mom was baptized at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Faith in San Antonio, Texas, many years ago. Mom regularly attended Mass with our father Newton E. Jones, deceased. Mom was an avid reader and kept up on current events. Mom was a loving woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Mom was sweet, giving with a kindred spirit and dearly loved. Mom had been described as wise and humble. One of her favorite pastimes was reading, which she thoroughly enjoyed and encouraged her family to do. Mom was family oriented and enjoyed having Sunday dinners and other events that allowed her to spend time with her family and friends. Cherished memories of mom will remain in the hearts of her sons, Newton, Clive and Bill; daughters, Audrey and Laura. She will also remain in the hearts of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Among the names below are names of the grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins: Marcus, Sandra, Veronica, Audra, Paul, Brenda, Jeffery, Kim, Amel, Adam, David, Kyla, Danyell, D'Angela, Shakeirah, Brian, Christian, Ramon, Imani, Anthony and Little Willie. Mom will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623. Mom, you will always have a place of honor in our hearts.
