Charles Frederick Sergeant, 83, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD on August 22, 2017. Charles was born on September 13, 1933 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Sergeant in New York, NY. Charles was formerly of Temple Hills, MD and retired from the DC Fire Department in 1994. He attended State College and served in the United States Army with the 335th Combat Signal Corp.

Charles was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Sergeant, who was the love of his life. He leaves to cherish his memories, his dear friends, Mary Beth, Jeffrey, Vicki and Vincent. There will be a Committal Service at 12pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 with Military Honors at the St. Paul's Rock Creek Cemetery, 201 Allison St NW, Washington, DC 20011.
