Richard "Rich" Lee Mowry Sr., 72, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD on May 12, 2017. Richard was born on November 3, 1944 to the late William Mowry and the late Sadie Brown Mowry Strawn in Connellsville, PA. Richard was a member of the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge, previous member of Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association, Waldorf Jaycees, Charter member of Mechanicsville Jaycees and Potomac River Fisheries Commission. He enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, boating and was an avid card player.

Richard was predeceased by his grandson, Justin Groht; brothers, Howard Mowry, Harry Mowry, Graydon "Billy" Mowry, Dennie Mowry. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Peggy" Mowry; sons, Richard Mowry, Jr., Larry Mowry (Dara), Dewayne Mowry, Robert Owens, Jr. (Michelle),Thomas Groht, Jr. (Nicole), Daniel Groht (Jennifer), Steven Groht (Jennifer); daughter, Melody Williams (Jimmy); brothers, Darrell Mowry (Karen), sister, Wilma Mowry Riser (Ronald); sisters-in-law, Wilma, Dee, Francis, Barb; grandsons, Larry Mowry, Jr., Robert Owens, III, Jeffrey Bryant, Kyle Bryant, Bradley McDermott, Daniel Groht, Jr., Jasper Groht; granddaughters, Shannon Williams, Blair Scroggs, Ashley Owens, Adriene Owens, Lexy Bryant, Alexis Groht, Britany Groht, Lillian Hunt, Cassidie Mowry, Meadow Groht, Marlee Groht, Willow Groht; great grandchildren, Aryah St. John, Skyla Mowry, Jayce Lagana and Jaelynn Eberle.

Family will receive friends for Richard's Life Celebration visitation on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, MD with Pastor Dave Huffman officiating.
