Christine Veronica Smith Lee, of Lexington Park, MD was called Home by God on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Christine made her peaceful exit to be with her King. She was born on August 26, 1933 to the late Genevieve Lee and O'Neal Smith. Christine received her education at The Cardinal Gibbons Institute, Ridge MD which was St. Mary's County's first high school built to educate Blacks.

She was a long time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Christine's employment history includes working at Pax River Naval Base, St. Mary's College and the St. Mary's County Public Schools system, where she worked until her retirement. Christine loved her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them, especially on holidays, special occasions and at cook outs. She found enjoyment and happiness just sitting back and watching her children and grandchildren, whom she adored, enjoying themselves, as well as other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janice Campbell; nephew, Larry Bush and brother, Eric Smith. Christine leaves to cherish her precious memories five daughters, Joyce Carroll, Faye Butler (William), Gwen Fenwick, Vantora Jones, Yvonne Jones; four sons, Earlie Johnson (Lenora), Kenneth Jones, Arvell Smith (Mimi), and Henry Smith; two brothers, John Bush and David Smith; sisters, Michelle Smith, Linda Edwards and Felecia Smith, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.

Family and friends will unite on Saturday, March 18, 2017 for visitation at 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 17412 Mt. Zion Church Road, St. Inigoes, MD. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Arrangements by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, P.A.
