Edwin Joseph "Ed" Hodges Jr., age 87 of Waldorf, Maryland died December 16, 2016 at Morningside House in Waldorf, Maryland. He was the son of Edwin Joseph Hodges, Sr. and Mary Helen Hayden Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Hodges and his brother, Thomas "Little Tom" Hodges.

Ed was a retired Tech Sgt. with the United States Air Force, having served for 20 years and a retired Service Technician with Besche Oil Company with 20 years of service. He is a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, Maryland. He enjoyed playing pool and cards. He was an outstanding gardener and a member of the VFW Post of Bel Alton, Maryland.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hicks Hodges; his son, Michael P. Hodges; his daughters, Mary P. Hodges and Mindy H. Wilson and husband Bryant; his brother, Louis Hodges; his sisters, Barbara Ann Hodges and Jack Bailey and husband Robert; and his grandchildren, Alexa Kittson and Taylor Wilson.

Friends received on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5-8PM with VFW and Catholic Wake Services at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11AM at MD Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
