Shirley Mae Anderson, 92, of La Plata, MD passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Shirley was born in Altoona, PA and spent much of her life as a resident of District Heights, MD.

Shirley was very involved in her church, Grace Lutheran Church in La Plata and loved serving in ministries like Children's Aid. One of her favorite hobbies was square dancing.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Wendell Lowrie Anderson, her parents, Ralph and Katherine Smith, and her grandson, Brent Anderson. She is survived by her children, Wendell Lee Anderson (Anna Marie), and Larry B. Anderson (Susan H.). She was a cherished grandmother to Daniel Anderson, Marie Carlsson, Patrick Anderson, and Paula Demonet. Shirley was a loving great-grandmother to Lucas Carlsson, Emilie Carlsson, Autumn Demonet, Eliana Demonet, Emma Grace Demonet, and Joseph Demonet.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00am at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road in Waldorf.
