Sara Rae Pinekenstein, 35, of Great Mills, MD passed away on October 16, 2016 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD. She was born on May 9, 1981 in Portsmouth, VA to Mark H. Pinekenstein and Joyce Dodson Pinekenstein Weston.

Sara was a 1999 graduate of Leonardtown High School and a 2003 graduate of Frostburg University College. Sara was happiest when she was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music and making beaded jewelry for loved ones. She had great compassion for animals and loved her rescue cat Simba dearly.

In addition to her parents, Sara is survived by her siblings, Erik Pinekenstein of California, MD, Bradley Pinekenstein (Kelly) of Vienna, VA and Rebecca G. Lilly (Martin) of, Laurel MD; her step-mother Susan C. Pinekenstein and step-father George Weston.

Family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD with a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Interment will be private.
