Mary Isabel Farmer, affectionately known as "Dosie" by family and friends, was born on January 6, 1939 to the late James Theodore and Mary Margaret Fenwick of Newburg Maryland. She was the oldest and the only girl of six children.

On Thursday, September 29, 2016, she quietly departed this life at her home in La Plata, Maryland to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to spend eternity with her parents, her baby boy (Kerry Lee) and brothers James Leroy, John Edward and Joseph Melvin Fenwick.

Dosie was employed with the Charles County Public School System as a Senior Printing Technician for 35 years until she retired to come home and take care of her Mother. Dosie did not complete high school, but in honor of her baby boy Kerry, she went back to school and received her GED the year Kerry was suppose to graduate. Dosie was very educated, she was a math wiz, to us, she was the smartest woman in the world and there was nothing that she wouldn't do for us or her grand kids. Dosie was our provider and our protector. Not only helping us, but others with legal forms, medical forms or taking elderly to their doctors appointments, and keeping the Church and Temple finance books in order.

She held the following positions at Shiloh Community United Methodist Church: Usher, Communion Steward, Chairman of Commission on Church & Society, Treasurer for 15 plus years, Recording Secretary for the Worship Committee, Recording Secretary for Administrative Council Sunday's Meeting, Church Communicator, Distributed Food from the food pantry thru Tri-County Community Action Committee, and she also helped whenever needed at the church in any capacity, no task was to great or small.

Dosie was a member of the Elks, Abbie M. Johnson Temple #718, I.B.P.O.E of W. of Newburg, Maryland. She held the position of the Financial Secretary for 15 plus years. She was a member of the Black Hawks Drill Team, raising funds for uniforms, trips and etc, and working with the brothers in their Easter Finale for children.

She was a member of the Flower of Purity Past Daughter Ruler Council. She held the position as Chaplain for one year. She was a member of the Purple Cross Health Unit #408 of Newburg, Maryland, and held the position of Recording Secretary, Finance Secretary and Treasurer. She was also a member of the SMASH Organization. Held the position of Treasurer and worked with the Drug Program. In addition, she was also a member on the Board of American Cancer Society of the Charles County Branch of La Plata, Maryland.

Our Mother was a beautiful and very, very Classy Lady. If you knew her like we knew her you would agree. She loved to dress, dance, sing and she loved going to church.

Dosie leaves to cherish fond memories her children, James Allen, Mary Ann, Thomas Donnell (Stephanie), Sharon Lousie (Lonnie), two brothers James Arthur (Barbara Jean), Daniel Theodore (Sharon) and one sister-in-law Rosita Fenwick. Grandchildren: James P, Darnell, Brian, Delvon, Blair, Imani and Dedron, ten great-grand and one great-great-grandchild. A special friend, Ben and a sister at heart Gloria Cooper. Also left to cherish her passing is a host of nieces, nephews, other devoted family and friends.
