Louis Patrick Goldsmith Sr., 59, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on September 21, 2016 at MedStar Georgetown Hospital in Washington, D.C. Louis was born on March 17, 1957 to the late Henry Samuel Goldsmith and the late Isabelle Cora Alvey Goldsmith in La Plata, MD.

Louis previously worked at Bay Country Contractors in Leonardtown and delivered bread for Sunbeam Bread Company. He took pride in his work. He liked playing cards, watching westerns, wrestling with his sons and taking his sons to karate and baseball. The grandchildren were his pride and joy, spoiling them and weekend trips to Ocean City. He could pick crabs faster than anybody. Chocolate ice cream and German chocolate cake were his favorites.

In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by his brother, Henry Goldsmith, Jr.; sisters, Mary Bell Mister and Frances Higgs. He is survived by his sons, Patrick Goldsmith (Kristi), Ross Goldsmith; brothers, Archie Goldsmith (Patty), Sam Goldsmith (Delores); sisters, Betty Ann Vietor, Gertie Goldsmith, Elsie Mae Good, Connie Ankrom, Barbara Jean Cullember, Bootsie Grimes (Ricky), grandchildren, Destiny, Calee and Kaleb Goldsmith.

Family will receive friends for Louis' Life Celebration Visitation on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 10:00AM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church cemetery, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.

Pallbearers will be: L. Patrick Goldsmith, Jr., Ross Allen Goldsmith, Charles Grabis, Chad Bias, Michael Goldsmith and Gerald Mister. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kaleb Patrick Henry Goldsmith, Sam Goldsmith, Archie Goldsmith, Johnny Mister and Ricky Grimes.
