Geraldine C Cameron (Gerry) of Waldorf, MD, passed away at Sage Point Senior Living Center on September 7, 2016. She was 94 years old, born on July 3, 1922 in Yonkers, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marie and her brother Henry II. ?

Gerry led a long and fruitful life; after her graduation from AB Davis High School in Mount Vernon, NY, she began her career as a secretary at Troy Manufacturing Company in Tuckahoe, NY. She later became the private secretary to the President of the Venezuela Import Export Company on Wall Street, NYC, NY.

Gerry married the late Malcolm Cameron (Bucky) in 1943 while he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, Gerry and Bucky moved to Southern Maryland where Bucky was employed at Patuxent River during the establishment of the Naval Air Station. With the advent of four daughters, Gerry resumed her career; initially employed in the Admiral's office within the administrative staff. She was then recruited by the Bureau of Naval Personnel as part of the team to stand up Mess Management Training Facility, the first such training facility within the U.S. Government.

Mess Management Training Facility provided worldwide training for the administration of Enlisted and Officer Messes and Clubs. Mess Management training eventually became the standard for all US Services; training being held nationwide, worldwide as well as the home office at Pax River. Gerry was an Administrator for the original operation of the Mess Management Training Facility; eventually Mess Management was rolled into The Bureau of Naval Personnel MWR where she concluded her career and retired after 38 years of government service.

Gerry matriculated college; obtaining her certificate in accounting. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, the Mediterranean and visiting her daughters and extended family throughout the US. She was a long time member of the Mistress Brent Garden Club and served as Secretary for many years. She enjoyed square dancing, arts & crafts, was a master seamstress and an avid member of several Bible Study groups. She was also active in community services through Parks and Recreation in Southern Maryland. In the mid 1950's, both Gerry and Bucky were members of the newly formed Toastmasters in Lexington Park, Md.

Gerry is survived by her daughters, Heather Clark (Paul), Carol Cameron, Jean Deitch (Ed), and Patricia Raling. Geraldine will also be remembered by her eight grandchildren, Scott Pritchard, Peter, Christopher and Gregory Haa, David (Nicole) and Joseph Deitch, and Drew and Justin Langley, as well as four great grandchildren Vonn, Eva, and Owen Haa, and Alexander Deitch.

Geraldine will be interred Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery, 22375 Three Notch Rd, Lexington Park, MD 20653, following a eulogy and a Catholic Mass beginning at 11 am. Arrangements by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
