Horace Melvin Robinson, 59, departed peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2016 with his family surrounding him. Horace, affectionally known as "Bubby" to most, was born on November 24, 1956 to the late George H. "Turk" and Margaret M. Robinson of Piney Point, MD. Horace was the father of two sons Mark and Kevin Taylor.

Bubby was educated in the St. Mary's County School System. His career consisted of mostly carpentry and a water man. He enjoyed shucking oysters (and eating them too). Some of his places of employment were Daly's seafood, Allstate Drywall, and the most recent was Maryland Seafood. One of Bubby's hobbies was sanding.

Bubby loved listening to Oldies but Goodies, going to the race track, fishing, and enjoyed rooting for those Redskins. He enjoyed sharing stories of how they lived and the things they did in his younger days. He loved to cook (and eat) and was very particular about the taste of his food (especially seafood). He also enjoyed being amongst family and friends and I tell you this man would smile on contact. That smile was everything!

Bubby leaves to Cherish his memories, his two sons, Mark and Kevin, eight siblings, Alberta Thompson of Suitland, MD , Mary Robinson of Lexington Park, MD, Barbara Robinson, Rosie Robinson, Charles Robinson all of Piney Point, MD, Elizabeth Brown (Robinson) of Great Mills, MD, Elsie Robinson of St. Inigoes, MD and Dinah Robinson of Park Hall, MD. He also leaves a very special friend Brenda Barnes whom he shared many years with and felt very fond of, along with her three children. He also leaves behind two Goddaughters Shrita Robinson and Queenita Barnes, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded him in death was his parents, two sisters Geraldine and Doris Robinson, three brothers George Jr, Francis and James Oliver Robinson and one brother in law William Thompson. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. George's Catholic Church in Valley Lee, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00. Interment will be private.
