Dennis "Scott" Mattingly, 31, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on July 12, 2016. Born November 8, 1984 in Leonardtown, MD he was the loving son of Dennis I. and Deborah J. Mattingly of Leonardtown, MD. Scott was the grandson of Thelma (Tookie) Hayden. He was predeceased in death by his grandfathers; Thomas (Teenie) Hayden and William J. Mattingly and by his grandmother Hilda Mattingly.

Scott attended Father Andrew White through grade school and graduated from St. Mary's Ryken in 2002, he graduated from Towson University in 2006 with a Computer Science degree in Molecular Biology, Bio Chemistry ND Bio Informatics, and he was a Computer Programmer for The Reinforced Earth Company (IT Department) for nine years.

Most of all he was a very caring, lovable and friendly person. He was an active participant in the Newman Center at Towson University, enjoying and participating in their plays, dinners and Sunday services. Scott loved to watch the Ravens and Redskins. Most of his time was dedicated to his work once he entered the workforce.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic, Leonardtown, MD with Father David Beaubien officiating and Deacon Bill Nickerson and Deacon George Garber CO-officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Compton, MD. Pallbearers will be: Billy Long, Jeff Koslofsky, Allan Mattingly, Greg Bauer, Roy Mattingly and Jimmy Mayor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Building Fund and or St. Francis Xavier Church. Arrangements provided by the Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD
