Thomas John Teefey, 84, of Ridge, MD passed away on June 30, 2016 at Solomons Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 5, 1931 in Richmond, VA to the late Thomas John Teefey, Sr. and Laura Virginia Wagener.

Tom is a 1949 graduate of Benedictine High School. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for over 26 dedicated years until his retirement in September 1975 as a Senior Chief.

On September 19, 1959, he married his beloved wife, Lorraine, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Together they celebrated over 56 wonderful years of marriage. They renewed their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary at the Poconos, the same location they had been married. They later celebrated again with their family in Aruba. He enjoyed writing about his family roots and history, and compiled nine detailed books for his family. He and his wife enjoyed travelling to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. However, his greatest love was for his family, whom he loved to spend his time with.

He was a long time member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 255 and the Fleet Reserve Branch 93.

In addition to his wife, Lorraine, Tom is also survived by his children, Tom Teefey, III (Martha Carter) of Darnestown, MD, Lori Nice (Larry) of Stephens City, VA and Jeannine Teafey (Lisa Crowe) of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren, Tiffany Lang, Jennifer Teefey, Melissa Teefey, Leandro Carter, and Brandon Nice. He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 5:00 p.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 16566 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD 20680. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 456, Ridge, MD 20680. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
