Mark Loomis Howard, 66, passed away on June 16, 2016 at his home in California, MD. He was born in Baltimore, MD on February 10, 1950 to the late Thomas B. Howard and Blanche S. Howard.

Mark was educated at the Boys Latin School in Baltimore, MD and attended St. Mary's College of MD in St. Mary's City, MD and Towson University in Towson, MD where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning in 1975.

In June 1990, Mark married his beloved wife Cynthia L. Cromwell, of California, MD. Together they celebrated over 26 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in April 2013.

Mark was active in residential construction and civil engineering businesses in St. Mary, Charles and Calvert Counties. He later worked for the State of Maryland in Wetlands Preservation, retiring in 2008. Mark had his pilot's license, loved music, particularly playing the guitar and drums, and sailing. He also enjoyed research on the contributions of the Broome/Howard family to St. Mary's City. His greatest love was spending time with his wife, his nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Mark is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Thomas Brome Howard (Deborah) of Reston, VA, M. Spence "Ron" Howard (Bettye) of Annapolis, MD, Allen C. Howard of Annapolis, MD, Marguerite Eleanor Howard Morrison (Bart) of New York, NY, Juliana Brome Howard Berger (Paul) of Macungie, PA, and Leslie J. Doyle (Steve) of Oceanview, DE; his aunt, Myra S. Thomas of Lansdale, PA; his uncle, J. Spence Howard of St. Mary's City, MD; his step-mother, Mary Scott Howard of Macungie, PA; 13 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephew; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 7, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 47444 Trinity Church Road, St. Mary's City, MD 20686. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 47444 Trinity Church Road, St. Mary' City, MD 20686.
