Antoinette "Toni" Roxanne Megas, 56, of Indian Head, MD passed on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at George Washington University Hospital.

Toni graduated from La Plata High School in 1978. She attended Carnegie Mellon University and was a longstanding member of the Port Tobacco Players. Toni was fond of giving her love and hugs to everyone she connected with, busting into song at a moment's notice and rousing laughter out of anyone blessed to be near her.

A dedicated and adoring mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, who would drop everything to help those in need. She advocated for those who struggle with mental health issues, once serving On Our Own of Maryland and encouragingly supported those who fight to overcome additions. Toni enjoyed grooving to tunes ranging from classic rock to smooth jazz and she loved going to concerts with her family.

Toni is preceded in death by her mother, Marla Krause; grandmother, Jesse Beall; uncle, Johnny Warren; and father-in-law, James Megas. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Nicholas James Megas; daughter, Ashley and her husband, Brandon Johnson; sister Marlene and her husband, Buddy Burke; nieces, Rachel, Rosalie, Cristina and Victoria; sister, Andrea and her husband, Tim Ramia; nieces, Stephanie, Roxanne and Rebecca; sister, Maria and her husband, Brian Kunert; nephew, Christopher; brother, Teddy and his wife, Lori; nephews, Logan and Jaxon and niece, Juliana; sister, Margaret and her husband, Donnie Garraway; nephews, Landon and Brandon; sister, Teresa and her husband, Barney Breau; nephews, Carl and Vincent; beloved aunt, Virginia Warren; mother-in-law, Nancy Megas; sister-in-law, Connie and her husband, Will Harich; nephew, Paul; and many lovely friends.

The family will receive friends and celebrate Toni's life on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD; Interment to be held at a later date. If desired, friends may make a contribution on Toni's behalf to their local liberal arts, such as the Charles County Arts Alliance and/or the Maryland State Arts Council.
