Dorothy Christine Hill, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away January 28, 2016 at her residence. Born November 25, 1932 in La Plata, MD she was the daughter of Carroll C. Hancock and Dola Murphy Hancock.

A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Dorothy was a farmer along with her late husband. She enjoyed her family, sewing and sports, especially the Capitals and the Yankees.

Predeceased by her parents; late husband, Paul Zack Hill; son-in-law, David Beavan; and brothers Harry C. Hancock, James H. Hancock and John E. Hancock, Dorothy is survived by her children, Paul Hill, Jr. (Christine) of Charlotte Hall, MD, Dale Hill (Marcia) of Ashland, VA, Adrian Hill (Sheila) of Mechanicsville, MD, Margaret Beavan of Chaptico, MD and Joan Bearden (Michael) of Mechanicsville, MD; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for Dorothy's Life Celebration on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A prayer service will be held at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Rd., Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Mechanicsville, MD.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Beavan, Adrian Hill, Jr., Brian Beavan, Kevin Bearden, Mike Hammond and Adam Smith. Honorary bearers will be Sarah Smith, Amanda Bearden, Asley Hammond, Melissa Hill, Jessica Hill and Natalie Byrnes. Memorial donations may be made to Mechanicsville Rescue Squad, P.O.
