Howard Edward "Woody" Trotter III, 72, of Hughesville, MD passed away January 20, 2016 at his residence. Born January 8, 1944 in La Plata, MD he was the son of Howard Edward Trotter, Jr. and Mary Magdeline Simpson Trotter.

Woody worked as a Communications Expert for AT& T. Woody loved the outdoors and if he wasn't fishing on his boat, he was catching soft crabs. He was a avid hunter and loved to keep people laughing. He was involved with the Waldorf Fire Dept. at an early age and then continued with La Plata Fire Dept. for several years when he moved to La Plata. He received several awards while involved in the Fire Departments and also delivered 13 babies in those years. He worked for AT&T right out of high school and was sent to several places with his work all over the world.

Predeceased by his parents, Woody is survived by his children, Julie Lynn Trotter, Rachael Jane Sorenson (Yoko) and Matthew Edward Trotter; his sister Robin Trotter and his companion, Linda Fagan.

The family will receive friends for Woody's Life Celebration on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Fireman's Prayers will be held at 7:00p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols.
