Mabel Joanne Petrik, 83 of Bryans Road, Maryland died January 15, 2016 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

Joanne was an identical twin and homemaker. She was a graduate of the Anacostia High School Class of 1950 and a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a librarian at the Charles County Library in Bryans Road, MD, a CCD instructor at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church, a substitute teacher at Charles and Prince George's Counties School Systems, a volunteer at the Ladies Auxiliary with the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Ladies Sodality at the Star of the Sea Church helping with all church functions.

She was the daughter of Phillip Hammond Ong and Elizabeth Pearl Smith Ong. Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Petrik, her sister, Phyllis Jean Houser, and her grandson, Joseph A. Panciera.

She is survived by her sons, James M. Petrik (Marilyn), Andrew C. Petrik (Joanne), and John H. Petrik (Christine) and her daughters, Nancy A. Gillooly (Dennis), Martha E. Panciera (Ronald), and Sally J. DeLozier (Tony). Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Friends received on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel (La Plata, MD - 301-934-2920). Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church (Indian Head, MD). Interment at St. Charles Cemetery (Glymont, MD).
