Lily Ellen Hancock, 97, of Nanjemoy, MD died on December 14, 2015 in Waldorf, MD. Lilly was born on September 24, 1918 in Maryland Point, MD to the late Brodie and Edith Carpenter. She is also predeceased by her loving husband Matthew Lee Hancock, 4 brothers and 3 grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Layson Hancock (Pat), Leonard Hancock (Linda), Douglas Hancock (Mary), and W.K. Hancock (Jo); daughter Melda Ryce (Johnny), 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Nanjemoy Baptist Church and on Thursday, December 17 the from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Nanjemoy Baptist Church. Arrangements provided by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
