Raymond (Mike) Edward Berkeley Jr., 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away November 20, 2015. Born on May 21, 1944 in Kokomo, Indiana and raised in Morningside, Maryland to Raymond E. Berkeley Sr. and Pauline (Reid) Berkeley.
Mike was a Vietnam Veteran, a retired federal firefighter at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia and a twenty year member of the American Legion Post 0293.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jean Marie (Jarboe) Berkeley, brother, Patrick Berkeley and nephew, Ronnie Toole, Jr.
Mike leaves to cherish his sweet memory: wife Frances (Goshorn) Berkeley and three children, Patricia Ryon (husband Dan Ryon), Joseph Berkeley and Allen Berkeley (wife Priscilla Berkeley). Stepsons Christopher Bolt and David Kramer, sister Rene Berkeley Toole. His grandchildren, Nolan Ryon (wife Stephanie Ryon), Meagan Humbert (husband Trey Humbert), Nate Ryon, Amanda Berkeley Lansberry, Austin Berkeley, Carter Berkeley, Allie Jean Berkeley and great grandson Liam Ryon. Nieces Kimmy Toole and Emma Dillard, and many sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces and nephews, too many to list. He loves you all.
Mike's happiest days were spent with family and friends. His hobbies included golf, cars, playing cards, sunny days at the beach and his love of the Washington Redskins. HTTR.
The mass of Christian burial will be offered at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 16th at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St. Peter's Drive, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. Reception to follow at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, Maryland 20602. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fisher House or Haley House.
