Agnes Lavern (Gaines) Washington, 67, of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

In the early morning hours on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2015 at her home and surrounded by her loving family, Lavern as she was more affectionately called, peacefully transitioned to eternal life.

Lavern was born in Grayton, Maryland, Wednesday, October 20, 1948 to the late Amos Gaines, Sr. and the late Lucille Agnes (Lawson) Gaines.

She was the beloved wife of Rufus S. Washington and devoted mother of Larry, Perry, Carla and Keith. She was also a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and survived by her siblings, other relatives and friends.
