John Michael Stanish, 60, of La Plata, MD passed away at home on November 17, 2015. Born October 24, 1955 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Paul Joseph Stanish and Mary Rita Stanish.

John worked most of his life in the construction industry. He loved the outdoors and the special tranquility of being near the water. His heart was always with his family.

John is survived by his brother and sister (Tony Stanish and Christi Stanish) his former spouse Vickie and three children from that union; Russell Stanish (Kristen), Nicole Cannon (Jeff) and Michelle Mace (Travis). John had nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Family and Friends will be received on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 2-4 pm (prayer service starts 3:30 pm) at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
