Barbara Ann Hanbury, 60, of La Plata, MD, passed away at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Born on August 23, 1955 in Tachikawa, Japan she was the daughter of the late John Clifford Brown and the late Margaret "Peggy" Knuck.

Barbara graduated from Friendly High School in the Class of 1973. Later, she attended the College of Southern Maryland and graduated at the top of her class with an Associate's Degree in General Studies. Barbara enjoyed playing darts, crafts, photography, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Floyd Thomas Hanbury and brother, Steven Brown. Barbara is survived by her sons, Clifford Hanbury, and Thomas Hanbury; brothers, Christopher Brown, Michael Brown, Wayne Brown and Patrick Brown; sisters, Patricia Hobgood, Susan Viering, and Pamela Slough; grandchildren, Alexa, Addison, Charlotte and Elias.

The family will receive friends for Barbara's Life Celebration on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Funeral Service at 7:30PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
