William "Monk" Henry Myers, of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his home. He was 88 years old. Born on January 5, 1927 in Prince George's County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edith Myers and the late Charles Myers.

Mr. Myers served in the U. S. Army until he was Honorably Discharged in 1947. He then worked as a cable splicer for then C & P Telephone and later Verizon.

He was a life member of the Waldorf Moose Lodge and of the Waldorf Elks. He was also a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Posts in Waldorf. Mr. Myers loved fishing, rooting for the Washington Redskins and enjoyed sports of any kind. He was a loving husband, a kind and wonderful man who had a heart of gold and loved his co-workers and friends, he had no enemies.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Doris A. Myers; son, Ronald William Myers; his niece and caregiver, Crystal Williamson; his good friend, Billy Segar.

Family and friends to gather from 2PM to 4PM with a memorial service will be held at 4PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. A private interment will be held at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, Virginia. The family request no flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Road Waldorf, MD 20603. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
