George William Picyk, 68, died on Sunday June 21, 2015 at the John's Hopkins Hospital. George was born on August 30, 1946 in East Orange, N.J. to the late William S. and Mary Picyk.

George retired from PEPCO repairing electronics. His passion was restoring his and Elsie's Historic Home "Harwood"; he could fix anything he touched. He enjoyed history, was Past President of Charles County Antiques Arts Association, member of Historical Society of Charles County, Archeological Societies of Maryland and Charles County, and numerous Railroad Historical Societies. He was always happy and singing and going out of his way to help others. George was also in the U.S. Army and was married to his beloved wife Elsie for 46.

George is survived by his wife Elsie A.M. Picyk; sister's Mary Lynn Picyk-Bosma, Kathleen Ann Carlson and her husband Wayne; Niece's Christina Smith and her husband Christopher, Victoria Seidenzahl and her husband William.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 25, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA 211 St. Mary's Ave. LaPLata, MD were a Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 26, 2015 at 10 AM. Interment to follow in the St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the National Brain Tumor Society. Arrangements provided by Arehart-Echols Funeral Home.
