Bernard "Chum" Donald Lilly, 78, of Mechanicsville, MD, peacefully passed away at his home on June 12, 2015.

His beloved wife, Lenora Evadene Lilly, of 56 years, passed away on March 11, 2015. He is survived by his children, Donald Lilly and his wife Marianne Talbot, Pamela (Lilly) Best and her husband, Harvey Best, and Karen (Lilly) Keffer; grandchildren, Melissa Buckler, Nicholas Talbot-Lilly, and Norah Talbot-Lilly; and brothers Dwight Lilly, Doug Lilly, and Delvin Lilly; and predeceased by his grandson, Charles Burroughs.

Bernard, eldest of 4 children, was born on October 9, 1936 in Jonben, West Virginia to the late Marvin and Beatrice Ash Lilly. After serving in the U.S. Air Force in Greenland and Nevada, Bernard spent his career as a Building Engineer for commercial office buildings in Washington, DC while residing in St. Mary's County, MD with his wife and children.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, who cherished every moment with his family, his presence will be sorely missed. We love you with all our hearts, Pop.

The family will receive friends for Bernard's Life Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 9:00 – 11:00a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on June 20, 2015 at 11:00a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home.
