Ethel C. Anderson, "Dolly", 94, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on June 9, 2015 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on November 17, 1920 in Morganza, MD she was the daughter of the late Eunice Agatha Knott Long and Francis Irving Long.

Dolly was the loving wife of the late James Herman Anderson whom she married on December 28, 1940 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and who preceded her in death on December 23, 1993.

Dolly is survived by her many nieces, nephews, great niece, and great nephews. Siblings: Bernice Meehan of Rochester, NY, Anita Russell of Leonardtown, MD, and Estelle Bowles of Loveville, MD. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Benedict Long, Francis J. Long, Nellie Hayden, Gladys Lambert, and Joseph Long.

She graduated from Margaret Brent in 1940. Dolly was a homemaker and a lifelong St. Mary's County, MD resident. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, MD with Father Michel Tietjen officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Morganza, MD.
