James Richard Pilkerton, Sr., of Cobb Island, MD passed away on June 8, 2015 at Restore Health and Rehabilitation, White Plains, MD. James was born in La Plata, MD on October 27, 1946 to the late Joseph A. Pilkerton and the late Mary Grissett Pilkerton. James is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Pilkerton.

James is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Lynn Staley and Shelly Marie Pilkerton; sons, James Richard Pilkerton, Jr. and Michael Lester Pilkerton; and brothers, Allen Pilkerton, Andy Pilkerton, Gail Pilkerton and Larry Pilkerton.

James was employed as a waterman for many years. He loved the water and enjoyed playing cards, Keno, bingo and doing word searches in his spare time. James liked listening to George Jones and eating sweets. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and received a lot of joy being around children. James was also a former member of the Cobb Island VFD.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Holy Ghost Church, 15848 Rock Point Road, Issue, MD from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with a Memorial Service beginning at 12:00 Noon; Interment to follow. Pallbearers, James Richard Pilkerton, Jr., Richard Keith Hopkins, Sr., Michael Lester Pilkerton, Steven Dana Moy, Kevin Michael Ball and Timmy Todd.
