Susan "Sue" Behmke, age 68 of Waldorf, MD. Sue was born in Hagerstown, MD and lived the past 30 years in Waldorf, MD.

Sue graduated from Wagner College with a degree in nursing in 1969. She served as a Captain in the United States Army as a nurse. She received her Master of Science from University of Delaware in 1981. In 1984, she joined the College of Southern Maryland as a nursing professor. During her career in nursing, she co-authored multiple teaching manuals. She worked with the National League of Nursing performing onsite accreditation visits for numerous colleges across the country. After 30 years of teaching, she retired from the College of Southern Maryland.

Sue's favorite place in the world was the Outer Banks in North Carolina where she visited every year for a family vacation. Sue also loved a good cup of coffee while watching her birds. She will be well remembered for her kind heart, humor and "odes".

Sue is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Pauline Elizabeth Burns Nickell and one sister Joanna Jakober. Sue is survived by her brother John Nickell (wife Debbie), her two sons, Andrew and Michael (partner Kevin), daughter Elizabeth, and granddaughter Kenley.

Friends received on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 1PM until time of Funeral Service at 2PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.
