Bernard George Guntow, Sr., 68 of La Plata, Maryland died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD. Bernard was born May 7, 1946 in Washington, DC to the late George Benjamine and Vivian Erma Stewart Guntow.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and "his girls" (the dogs). He was an "all around amazing man" an extraordinary story teller and very entertaining. He was a paper hanger for the Local 51 painters union. He was a very loyal friend and loved by many.

He is survived by his wife Kim Gilger Guntow, two sons; Bernard George Guntow, Jr. and his fiancée Geri Word and Wesley Allen Guntow and his wife Janis, one daughter Christina Blair Killough and her husband Keith, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 4 – 8 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 where a Service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3165 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20646.
