Robert Eugene Buck, 82, of Benedict, MD passed away January 27, 2015 at his residence in Benedict, MD. He was the son of late Parran B. Buck and late Sarah E. Buck.

In 1959, Robert Eugene Buck was looking for a reason to get out of the house and serve his community. At the age of 27, after serving as a Medic in the United States Army during the Korean War, Robert worked as an Electronic Technician at the Naval NOL in Solomons before retiring in 1978. He then worked in the tool room at PEPCO, Chalk Point.

He joined the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and became a Lifetime Member for 56 years, serving as Chief, President and Rescue Squad Captain, VFW Post 8133, Prince Frederick and The American Legion, Hughesville, MD. Robert quickly attended basic first aid, emergency medical technician and basic firefighter through the University of Maryland to improve the response capabilities of the department. He unselfishly continued to take classes repeatedly to ensure the success of others in the department. His dedication and hard charging attitude earned him multiple awards from the department and the county.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brothers, Roy, Howard and Parran "Tick" Buck, sisters, Lelia Hooper, Thelma Buckmaster, Pearl Carroll, Inez Lango and Phyllis Conner. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dolores Buck; his daughter, Robin Buck Brock, grandson, Tim Brock, Jr. (Megan), great-grandchildren, Hayden & Landon Brock, and many nephews, nieces and friends.
