GREAT ZUMBA PARTY FOR ALL AGES! MAKE IT A FAMILY NIGHT!
Recently, The Estacion Family have been experiencing many hardships. Richard Estacion, has been a Type 1 Diabetic since the age of 19. As he has aged, he is becoming sicker. His kidneys are now failing and are around 4 percent kidney function. Every night he is required to do peritoneal dialysis to stay alive. The family right now can no longer take family vacations because he is required to stay with the machine and it is too difficult to take the machine with us. He is waiting for a pancreas and kidney from Johns Hopkins to become available for a transplant. He has received multiple calls but the transplant hasn't worked out yet, and so we wait.
In addition to Richard, Shelly Richard's wife is also ill. As of a few months ago, Shelly was diagnosed with colon cancer. She has been going to radiation and taking chemo pills for the past 2 months. During the 2 months before surgery she still tries to live her life to the fullest. She teaches piano lessons, she sings beautifully for our church, she volunteers as the religious education second grade teacher, and so much more. Shelly will go to any extent to put a smile on someone's face, even with her condition. Shelly went into surgery early December and the surgery was an success. The doctors said she would need more chemo after the surgery to assure the cancer is completely gone. The time frame is 6 months – year or longer.
Lisa Martoni a ZUMBA Instructor that also teaches hip hop at Gracie’s Guys and Gals Dance Studio and a best friend of Shelly is hosting a ZUMBATHON Charity Fundraiser Event for the family. There will be raffles, door prizes, seven instructors, lots of dancing, and vendors, plus a bake sale. Please attend, it proves to be lots of fun! And it is for a good cause! Many thanks to several people who are donating baskets of goodies for raffles, and door prizes! Our prayers continue for Shelly and her family, who is healing and is in good spirits!
