Coach Al MacCormack's Ice Hockey Camp returns for a second summer! Sponsored by the Capital Clubhouse and Southern Maryland Sabres, this clinic includes three hours of ice instruction. Off-ice conditioning and video review will take place each day Monday-Friday, June 18-22, 8:00am-4:00pm. Players, age 8 through High School, will be grouped according to skill level with groups receiving the same ice and off-ice instruction. *No before or after care provided. The cost is $250/in-county and $265/out-of-county. The registration deadline is June 4. Please add $15 late fee if registering Jun 5 or later.
Coach MacCormack is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York, where he is a 2002 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee. He earned a bachelor-of-science degree in physical education from St. Lawrence and a master-of-science degree in physical education at Ithaca College. Coach MacCormack was named as the ECAC Northeast Coach of the Year in 2001-02 after his team established a school record for single-season victories. In 2001-02, Coach MacCormack was one of 12 finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Coach of the Year award, presented by the American Hockey Coaches Association. Since 1973, MacCormack has been an instructor at numerous hockey schools, including the Buffalo Sabres Hockey School and he has also been an instructor at the Detroit Red Wings Hockey School working with the likes of Scotty Bowman and Coach Barry Smith, Assistant Head Coach of the Phoenix Coyotes under Wayne Gretzky.
