The La Plata Lions Club is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services for the visually impaired, those who suffer from diabetes, and those who may suffer from hearing loss. All profits to fund raising activities go towards financing free testing and early detection of these medical conditions.

Club meetings are the first and third Thursdays of each month at the El Ranchito Restaurant (formerly Marie's), on Route 301 in La Plata. The meeting place is next door to the DASH-IN Gas Station.
